Hello everyone! Welcome to 応用英語I-2B (English I-2B Intensive Reading)

Today is an introduction to the course. In this lesson you will learn how to:
  • subscribe to this blog
  • make a blog comment
  • register for and use Quizlet - an online vocabulary study site.
  • make a reading plan
We will use this blog in every lesson. You can see blog posts from last semester. Please click this link:  応用英語I-2.

Next, let's look at our textbook. Please look at the image below. We will be using a text book called Fiction in Action: Whodunit.

One of the authors of Whodunit is my friend Marcos Benevides. You can see Marcos in the picture below.  Mr. Benevides is the man on the left holding the trophy. The other author is Adam Gray. Mr. Gray is standing in the middle next to the Duke of Edinburgh (フィリップ [エディンバラ公]). The man on the right is my friend Alistair Graham-Marr. He is one of the publishers of our textbook. Our textbook won the HRH The Duke of Edinburgh ESU English Language Book Award for 2010!

There are two detective stories in Whodunit. This semester, we will read  the first one, called The Inverted Eagle.

Now let's learn some useful vocabulary for reading detective stories. First, please click this link: Introduction to Quizlet. Next, please click this link: Togaku 英単 Set 1.

Finally, let's post a blog comment. Click here to learn how to post a comment - コメント投稿法.
Enjoy reading!
